Thanks to our incredible supporters, teams, partners and volunteers, we were able to reach more than 28,000 people through our programmes in Q2 2026 (April-June).
In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at some key achievements from our Child Protection, Access to Education, and Family Strengthening programmes, and the difference they are making in the lives of children and families across East Africa.

Child Protection
This quarter, our Child Protection Programme continued to provide vital support to children and teenagers. Through our Social Justice Project, we supported a record 64 children in conflict with the law. Our community safeguarding officers provided legal guidance, counselling, and transport to court, helping each child navigate the legal process.
This quarter:
42,485 nutritious meals were provided to children across all of our projects.
801 children enjoyed taking part in fun activities at our weekly Saturday Kids Clubs.
610 girls took part in counselling through our Girls Support Groups.
30 families were supported with counselling through our Social Justice Project.
76 children were cared for at our Ewafe transitional home.

Maya* shared:
“This year, when I was turning 11, I came to Kids Club Kampala for Saturday Kids Club. Halfway through the session, I was asked to stand up in front of other children. Everyone started singing happy birthday songs and sharing a big cake. It’s the first time I felt loved and special.”

Access to Education
Our Access to Education Programme continued to transform lives throughout Q2, opening doors to brighter futures for children across East Africa. Between April and June, we helped more than 1,000 children access free, quality education. One of the highlights of the quarter was seeing 5 young people graduate from our Child Sponsorship Project.
This quarter:
94 children accessed free early years education and nutritious meals every day through our Encouraging Education Project.
220 children in Uganda continued to access free education through our Child Sponsorship Project.
646 children in Kenya and 121 children in Tanzania continued to be supported with their education through our Learning and Skills for Life Project.

Nathaniel’s story
After losing both parents, Nathaniel* and his younger siblings were raised by their grandmother, who cared for the children despite having very limited resources. Everything changed when our in-country partner, The Mango Tree Kenya, recognised Nathaniel’s potential and found him a generous sponsor. He was supported from primary school through to university, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
Today, Nathaniel is a qualified primary school teacher, inspiring the next generation. He shared:
“Your support has changed my life, and today I am proud to give back to my community as a teacher.”

Family Strengthening
In Q2, our Family Strengthening Programme supported families by equipping more than 490 individuals with practical skills training, helping create pathways towards sustainable employment. A key achievement was providing childcare support for 28 young children at our Naguru Hope Centre creche, enabling their parents to attend classes and take part in training without childcare becoming a barrier.
This quarter:
62 students graduated from our Tailoring and Knitting Project in May, with 24 also sitting exams to earn a vocational certificate.
62 new students enrolled on our Tailoring and Knitting Project in June.
12 students continued to develop practical skills through our Carpentry Project.
360 people in western Kenya attended sessions focused on increasing household food security through the Our Lives, Our Land Project.

Ola* graduated from our Tailoring and Knitting Project in May. She said:
“The tailoring skill has given me a sense of purpose. I was unemployed with no skill. Life was so challenging for me, I couldn’t even pay my own bills. A friend told me about Kids Club Kampala and I joined the tailoring class. I liked the way the teachers were handling both the young and the old and making sure everyone understood what was being taught. In my third month of training, I started mending people’s clothes, providing me with some small earnings while still studying. This gave me so much hope and it restored my peace of mind. I am so thankful to Kids Club Kampala.”
