This year has been incredible, and as an organisation we have been taken aback by the level of support we have received during what has been a very challenging year for small charities. We'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has supported us.

At Kids Club Kampala, our mission is to transform children’s lives, empower communities and reduce poverty throughout East Africa. We are focused on meeting the immediate needs of children and families, and strengthening their futures through our Child Protection, Access to Education and Family Strengthening Programmes. Our programmes work together to provide a holistic and comprehensive model of care. Through our community-led approach, we are able to meet the needs of the poorest and adapt to the needs of children and families, supporting them to survive and thrive.

In April, Kids Club Kampala officially partnered with The Mango Tree. This partnership has enabled us to expand our life-changing impact and reach even more children and families in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. We are looking forward to seeing how we can collectively make a difference across East Africa for years to come.

Child Protection

In 2025, our Child Protection Programme continued to empower children and young people across 10 slum communities in Uganda. Our Child Protection Programme aims to address child abandonment, abuse and neglect by providing a range of targeted activities for children and young people, safe spaces for children, a community-based abuse prevention approach, support with social justice cases for children who have come into conflict with the law, and emergency care to safeguard children in danger.

This year…

  • 954 children regularly attended our Saturday Kids Clubs.

  • 64 boys and young men participated in our Football Project.

  • 678 girls in vulnerable situations accessed free counselling through our Girls Support Groups.

  • 42 child protection cases were responded to by our 45 community safeguarding officers.

  • 19 children were rescued and 20 were reintegrated into loving families through our Ewafe Project.

  • 635 meals were provided during the school holidays through our new Community Feeding Project.

“I now have good coaches who have really supported me in improving my skills in football. I have been working really hard and I was even chosen as the number one goalkeeper for my school. I am so proud of it.” - Scott* (aged 14), Football Project

“When we meet at Kids Club, we play and I love it. I have made friends, and we enjoy our time with other kids. We are like sisters. We even celebrate birthdays together and this has taught us how to share and care for each other.” - Anna* (aged 11), Saturday Kids Clubs

Access to Education

This year, our Access to Education Programme continued to give children the opportunity to learn through providing high quality education for free. This programme includes our Encouraging Education Project, which offers free early years education to 3-6 year olds, and our Child Sponsorship Project, which pairs children with Child Sponsors who cover the cost of their school fees.

In 2025…

  • 99 children aged 3-6 received daily education at our Encouraging Education Project.

  • 99 children received nutritious meals daily at our Early Childhood Development Centres.

  • 22 new children were enrolled onto our Child Sponsorship Project, taking the total number of sponsored children for 2025 up to 280.

“I am deeply grateful to Kids Club Kampala for giving my son such a strong foundation. Thank you for the care, support, and hope you have given to us both.” - Elliott’s* (aged 8) father, Encouraging Education Project

“I was sponsored all the way to university, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance. Coming from a family of ten, living in a slum community, I never imagined that I would one day be able to support my family and offer my siblings the same opportunities I was given.” - Stella* (aged 26), Child Sponsorship Project

Family Strengthening

Our Family Strengthening Programme offers people aged 13 and over the opportunity to gain a qualification, while also equipping parents with practical skills they can use to generate a sustainable income and lift their families out of poverty. This programme includes our Carpentry Project and our Tailoring and Knitting Project.

This year…

  • 187 individuals took part in our Tailoring and Knitting Project.

  • 117 students received business training and business support.

  • 16 young people participated in our Carpentry Project.

“I had always dreamed of learning tailoring, but the cost was too high, so I gave up on it until Kids Club Kampala came into my life. Now, I’m back on my feet. I plan to expand my business and one day teach others, especially those who want to learn this skill but can’t afford it.” - Bonnie* (aged 43), Tailoring and Knitting Project

The Mango Tree delivers programmes in Kenya and Tanzania, with a focus on improving educational opportunities and helping children in East Africa thrive. The Learning and Skills for Life Programme supports disadvantaged children and young people to succeed in school, work and life through providing sustained access to life-long learning. At the community level, the Our Lives, Our Land Programme helps disadvantaged families in Western Kenya to tackle climate change, achieve food security and build sustainable incomes.

In 2025…

  • 940+ children and young people in Tanzania and Kenya were supported with their education.

  • 1,799 children in Kenya and Tanzania were supported with mentorship and career guidance.

  • 11,000+ trees were planted in Western Kenya by community farming groups.

  • 6,000+ children were involved in tree planting in Western Kenya.

  • 1,690 people attended training sessions on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

“The Mango Tree believed in me when I had nothing. Their support helped me discover my confidence, and now I’m able to give back by helping others. I’m proud that I can support my sister the way I was once supported.” - Robert* (aged 29), Learning and Skills for Life Project

“The knowledge I have gained from The Mango Tree has expanded my horizon in beekeeping. Let more young people, especially young mothers, join in environmental conservation work. The forest offers us a chance to become great beekeepers.” - Vanessa* (aged 24), Our Lives, Our land Project

This year, our work made a significant impact on the lives of children and families - but we are not stopping there. With a vision to make a lasting impact on over 5 million lives by 2035, we are working to scale up our programmes and reach even more children and families across East Africa.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are aiming to…

  • Reach 15,000 vulnerable children and their families in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

  • Scale up our Child Protection Programme through recruiting and training more community safeguarding officers across East Africa.

  • Expand our Family Strengthening Programme, to offer more vocational courses in additional locations.

  • Increase the capacity and sustainability of our Access to Education Programme, enabling more children in vulnerable situations to benefit from free education.

Thank you so much for your support. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
