Our 2025 Impact Report is here!

In this blog post, we are delighted to share a summary of our key highlights and achievements from last year. Read on to discover the tangible impact created across East Africa in 2025, made possible by the incredible support of our community.

At a time when funding opportunities are shrinking and global institutions are turning their backs, our supporters are stepping up. Thank you so much for being such an integral part of the Kids Club Kampala family. We hope you enjoy reading this blog post and reflecting on all that we have achieved together.

Highlights

In 2025, thanks to your support, our programmes reached over 100,000 people across East Africa.

The most significant milestone of the year was our partnership with The Mango Tree, which officially began in April 2025. This collaboration united two organisations committed to creating lasting change through shared values, local leadership, and a passion for empowering communities. We have loved working with our new programme delivery partners, The Mango Tree Kenya and the Organisation of Matumaini Communities (OMC) in Tanzania. We’ve also strengthened our governance, welcoming three former Mango Tree UK trustees to our Board – William Fulton, Rachel Lindley and Nic Merrett.

In 2025, we discovered that children attending our Encouraging Education Project were missing out on meals during the school holidays. After looking more closely, we found that this issue was widespread – not just among our students, but for many children who depend on school to receive their daily meals. In response, we set up a Community Feeding Project, providing nutritious meals and stability during the school holidays. Across two school breaks, we served 5,952 meals to 326 children!

We also launched a brand new girls’ football team in Namuwongo! Thanks to our new female coach, Abbi*, the team is becoming a warm space where young girls are developing football skills and a sense of belonging. As both a coach and a role model, Abbi is inspiring the next generation of girls to believe in their potential.

In addition to these achievements, we also celebrated exciting developments at our Ewafe home, welcomed our largest ever number of child sponsors, and raised a record breaking £91,940 through our Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign!

Impact

2025 saw our programmes expand their reach and life-changing impact across East Africa. Here are just a few of our highlights from the year…

Child Protection

  • 954 children attended our Saturday Kids Clubs

  • 64 children took part in our Football Project

  • 49 child protection cases were responded to

  • 678 girls attended our Girls Support Groups

  • 26 children were rescued from abandonment and abuse

  • 20 children were reintegrated into loving families

Aaliyah*, who is a member of our girls’ football team, shared:

“My parents never used to allow me to play football. They told me that sports should be for only boys. After coach Abbi* spoke with them, I was finally allowed to play. I am now a midfielder on the KCK team, and my dream is to become a professional midfielder.”

Access to Education

  • 99 children attended our Encouraging Education Project every day

  • 243 children continued to be sponsored, with 22 new children joining the Child Sponsorship Project

  • 11 children graduated from our Child Sponsorship Project

  • 734 children Kenya were supported with free education

  • 206 children in Tanzania were supported with free education

Before joining our Child Sponsorship Project, Patti* faced the threat of dropping out of school because her family was struggling to afford food and basic necessities – let alone school fees. Thanks to a generous sponsor, her life was transformed, providing stability throughout her education and enabling her to finish Senior Four – an achievement that once seemed impossible. Building on this foundation she enrolled in a cosmetology course and has recently graduated. She is now co‑running a small beauty business. This life-changing support has also improved her family’s living standards, creating a more stable environment as Patti continues to grow and pursue her ambitions.

Family Strengthening

  • 245 new students were enrolled in our Tailoring and Knitting Project

  • 33 children were cared for at our Hope Centre creche

  • 16 students gained new skills through our Carpentry Project

  • 167 individuals received business training

  • 49,000+ tree seedlings were planted in Kenya through the Our Lives, Our Land Project

  • 690 community members participated in climate change mitigation and adaptation training

Hayley*, who graduated from our Tailoring and Knitting Project in 2025, said:

“I dropped out of school two years ago because my sister who was paying my school fees could no longer afford it. In March 2025, our local leader directed me to the Tailoring and Knitting Project where I trained for four months. The skill gave me back my hope and confidence which were lost. At the completion of the course, I was provided with a sewing machine to start a business. I currently work from home and I make some money. I am saving the biggest percentage of the money I earn to put towards my dream of upgrading this skill, renting a bigger space to expand my business and being able to employ other women like me.”

17 years of impact

With the help of our incredible supporters, we have been able to serve those living in poverty across East Africa for the past 17 years. Here are just some of our achievements since we began in 2009…

Can you help us build more classrooms?

Help us transform even more lives in 2026.

Our Early Childhood Development Centre in Namuwongo is overwhelmed with demand. Without an available local primary school, children are missing out on vital learning at a critical time in their development.

With your help, we can expand our Encouraging Education Project to meet this need and double the number of children we can support. We are currently raising funds to purchase a nearby piece of land, so we can build more classrooms.

Can you help us reach our £15,000 target? Every gift makes a real difference – and with match funding available, your support could have double the impact!

Thank you so much for your support. We are so grateful for everything you make possible.

I usually play during short breaks, and Drive Mad loads quickly without any setup. It's easy to jump in for a few levels.
