The way we work

At Kids Club Kampala, we believe that every child is unique and special, and deserves to have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our work is based on a holistic approach, where we focus on meeting the immediate needs of children and families in the slums while empowering them to bring about long-term, sustainable changes in their lives. Our approach encompasses four core project areas: feeding, protecting, educating, and skilling.

These four areas are not siloed; they work together holistically to create a supportive environment for vulnerable children and their families. We firmly believe in a holistic approach, ensuring that children and families have their basic needs met (food, safety) so they can fully engage with and benefit from education and skills development. This approach helps them move from merely surviving to truly thriving, as stated in our theory of change.

Along with our values and principles, below are our ways of working which sets us apart.

How we're different

Local Ugandan Leadership and Community-Driven

We're deeply passionate about being locally led.

With a fantastic team of over 80 staff and volunteers, we plan, deliver and monitor our programs in Uganda. We actively engage with the community, listening to the ideas and needs of our beneficiaries and working closely with local leaders to create positive change.

Join us in our mission to protect and empower children and families in the slums of Kampala. Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a brighter future for all.

How you can help

It costs £1 to provide a hot, nutritious meal for a vulnerable and undernourished child at our daily feeding project – and it’s vital we keep providing children with the help they need.
