Corrie is a UK Director of Kids Club Kampala and is also one of the founders of the organisation. Corrie has a background in child Psychology and research. As well as undertaking fundraising, marketing and the day-to-day tasks of running the organisation, Corrie also manages our School Sponsorship programme. Originally from Ireland, Corrie is married to Jonny who helped to set up the carpentry project. Along with Olivia, Corrie won the Global Champion Award at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards in December 2013 for her work with Kids Club Kampala.
Olivia Barker White - UK Director
Olivia is one of the founders of Kids Club Kampala and is also a UK Director. With a background in International Development, Olivia is passionate about reducing global poverty and empowering young people to make a difference in the world. Olivia oversees the strategic planning and management of the organisation, as well as spending most of her time fundraising and publicising the work of KCK. Olivia is married to Huw and they live in Birmingham. Along with Corrie, Olivia won the Global Champion Award at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards in December 2013 for her work with Kids Club Kampala.
Nicole Robinson-Edwards - Charity Development Officer
Nicole is the Charity Development Officer at the UK head office in Birmingham, Nicole has an Msc in Global Citizenship and Human Rights, she also has a background in research as she has studied Psychology at undergraduate level. Nicole has more than 6 years’ experience working in the charity sector which includes working and volunteering for charities in the UK, Europe and Africa. In addition to this Nicole is passionate about working towards solving injustices and improving the lives of others, which has been demonstrated in the work that she has done. Empowering and supporting people to reach their full potential is what motivates Nicole and she feels privileged to use her skills to help and support others. Nicole enjoys travelling, dancing and spending quality time with family and friends
Peter Kearney - Chair of Trustees
Peter is our Chair and he also oversees all the legal aspects of the charity, as well as providing advice about alternative care for children. Peter joined our board in 2015, after having been involved with Kids Club Kampala for several years after first volunteering with KCK in Uganda in 2013. Peter is a family solicitor and previously worked for the fostering and adoption charity Home for Good. He is married to Miriam and lives in Yorkshire.
Alisdair Pert - Treasurer
Ali is Kids Club Kampala’s Treasurer and is one of KCK’s founding Trustees. He first went to Uganda to volunteer with KCK in 2010, which is where he met his wife Jane! As the Treasuer, Ali oversees our accounts, financial reporting and procedures. A keen cyclist, Ali regularly takes on challenges to raise money for the the work of KCK – he recently cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats in just 9 days! Ali works as an engineer for an oil company and lives in Aberdeen.
Lydia Harwood - Secretary
Lydia joined our Board in 2016 and is our Secretary. Lydia has been involved with KCK for a number of years through organising numerous fundraising events and sponsoring a child. With a background in Communications and Markering, Lydia currently works as an international officer for UCL. Lydia is passionate about events planning and data reporting and analysis. Lydia currently lives in North London.
James Hall - Trustee
James is one of Kids Club Kampala’s founding Trustees, and first visited Uganda in 2007. James currently works as a Children, Schools and Families Worker for the Church of England. He previously worked as an English and Religious Studies teacher at an International School in Kenya. He is passionate about seeing children reach their full potential and he enjoys being able to help the work that KCK does to facilitate that. James currently lives in Somerset.
Edward Miles - Trustee
Ed has been a Trustee since 2014 and first went to Uganda in 2007. Ed has a degree in Law and currently works for the UK Civil Service. He has a background working for numerous different charities in the UK, and is passionate about growing KCK’s reach and impact. He undertakes responsibilies for managing KCK’s payroll. Ed is passionate about community engagement, and also regularly volunteers working with disadvantaged young people on his local estate in East London with his wife Louise.
Isaac Sibanda - Trustee
Isaac is our newest Trustee, having joined the Board in November 2016. Isaac has a background in law and international business, and is currently training for ordination in the Church of England. Isaac has been involved through volunteering in Uganda and sponsoring a child since 2013. He grew up in Zimbabwe and is passionate about community development in Africa. Isaac is married to Becky and they currently live in Durham.
