She took on the role of a Marketing and Communications Intern for Kids Club Kampala. This is what she said about her experience:
“It has given me a good insight into the work of a charitable organization, what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ and the hard work that goes into generating vital funds. I have learned lots about Uganda and Kampala and the social and political issues children there face. I have developed my skills and understanding of the importance of social media and marketing and it has enabled me to recognise the growing necessity of technology and social media in marketing and PR. I particularly enjoyed the social media aspect of my role - I enjoyed interacting with supporters online, personally thanking people for their support and I liked posting pictures to show our audience what good work was being done with their donations. It has really had an impact on me and I would love to go on to work for a charity/NGO in the future.”
Kids Club Kampala is a small charity and relies on the hard work and dedication of a team of trustees, volunteers and interns in the UK that work together to bring hope and love to vulnerable children in Uganda. We really appreciate the work and support of our volunteers and interns and could simply not function without them. If you join our team as an intern you can guarantee that your input will make a direct and valuable contribution to the lives of many children and communities in Uganda.
