On Saturday we held our annual Volunteers Retreat. We have a fantastic team of over 70 volunteers who give up their time and energy to run our projects and make a difference in their communities. They generously give up their time to serve the children of their communities through running our Kids Clubs, Encouraging Education Projects, Football League, Music and Dance projects and more. We simply could not do all that we do without our amazing volunteer team, and we are so grateful for each and every one of them.
Each year we hold a Volunteers Retreat to say thank you to our brilliant team for all their hard work. This gives them a day off on a Saturday to relax, have fellowship and fun.
This year the day was held by Lake Victoria in Entebbe. Each of our volunteers had a chance to share stories and testimonies from their lives and their communities. These stories were so encouraging. Not only is KCK empowering the children we serve but the volunteers said that they have found good friends at KCK and feel that KCK is a family to them. It is rare to find an organisation working in East Africa that has so many committed volunteers. We are so thankful for their commitment and proud of the work that they do. The day also included games, sports, swimming in the lake, dancing, balloon modelling, a boat ride and a BBQ!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers and to everyone who donated to make this day possible!
